Install the Topdeck helper
Install once on your Steam Deck or Windows PC. The phone finds it automatically, and it updates itself from then on.
How to do it
- Hold the power button for about a second, choose “Switch to Desktop”
- Open the app launcher (Steam Deck icon, bottom left) → System → Konsole. If there is a >_ icon in the taskbar, that works too
- Type the command below (or paste it) and press Enter
curl -L topdeck.games/i|bashPaste using Konsole's own right-click menu (L2 is right-click in Desktop mode) and pick Paste. Ctrl+Shift+V on the on-screen keyboard does not work — don't bother with it.
Rather not type it out? Open topdeck.games/setup in the Deck's own browser, hit “Copy command” above and paste it into the terminal — then that URL is the only thing you type.
To type in Desktop mode, press Steam + X for the on-screen keyboard.
If your Deck is set to a non-Latin language, the on-screen keyboard may not let you type a URL at all. Press the Steam button → Settings → Keyboard and add an English layout first; you can then switch layouts on the keyboard itself.
How to do it
- Search for PowerShell in the Start menu, right-click, “Run as administrator”
- Type the command below (or paste it) and press Enter
irm topdeck.games/i.ps1|iexWhen it finishes, go back to the app and tap “Scan”. Keep both on the same Wi-Fi — no IP address needed.
